The answer is YES. These days, every student wants passive income while studying. Getting a paid internship is a real struggle for students. But you don't need to worry at all!!๐Ÿค— There's another option which is Freelancing.

Gaining some materialistic skills you can start freelancing easily. Freelancing is the best way to keep your knowledge updated & implemented.

Being a Computer Science student there are many opportunities with which you can start freelancing. Just as you can start writing technical blogs, teaching any language in that you are at an advanced level, developing websites etc.

In this article, I'm going to give you some ideas that will help you in starting freelancing as a student.

Once you are good something, follow the steps below: -

a. Register on websites like Freelancer, Upwork, Guru, etc.

b. Create a good profile according to the guidelines of each forum.

c. Don't forget the portfolio. If you know something, you should have job samples to show your client so they can trust you and give you a job.

d. Start applying for projects that seem to be happening to you.

Ways To Start Freelancing As A Computer Science Student

1. Content Writing

Content writing is one of the suitable and easy ways to be a freelancer as a computer science student. This means if you are learning something like any language (c,c++, java, python, etc) or doing any course (web development, android development, graphic designing, etc) or you have already an expert at any of them you can start content writing in the form of:

  • A blog post.
  • Article.
  • Case study.
  • Research paper.
  • Journals

There are many sites that will pay you for the content writing on computer science-related topics. For example, Geeks for Geeks, Linode, Auth0 ,etc.

2. Online Coaching/Training

During these covid pandemic days, online coaching is the most demanding thing.

You have a great chance if you are an expert at any topic related to computer science (any programming language or any course), you can start your online classes.

For starting your online classes all you need to do is :

  • Set up a business page on any social sites like LinkedIn, Instagram, or Facebook, etc
  • Start posting about the course you want to train people on.
  • Make Posts by Images, Slides, and videos.
  • If you have trained anyone in the past you can use evidence.
  • You can use Zoom/google meet live training for more.

  • Start writing blogs that help them grow.
  • Put an offer, well-planned and satisfying need.
